ABOUT ME

MY PHILOSOPHY

A I am a retired cancer researcher (17 years)  with a PhD in biochemistry and biophysics. Recently, I made a career switch from cancer researcher/professor to holistic nutritionist,  wellness consultant, personal trainer,  yogi and life coach.

Although, I have been active most of my life,  I made the decision to become more active, improve my nutrition and take better care of myself because diabetes runs in my family and I was on the path to developing diabetes myself. As part of my journey I have incorporated  weightlifting and have begun seriously pursuing ballet.  Nutrition is vital to improved health and I have also become a nutritionist. 

In my former career, I acquired a great deal of experience over 10 years coaching students, peers, and junior researchers in all aspects of their lives including relationships and stress. I was able to help others optimize their potential so that they could be highly successful in their chosen career paths. Life coaching allows me to help others reduce stress and identify  strategies to allow for a better overall quality of life and start on the path to improved health.

Finally as a yogi (RYT 200)  and Tai Chi Easy Practice Leader, I find that the mind body connection is very important for one's overall health and emotional well being.

I want to share my knowledge with others. I have turned my health around and I am eager to help others get healthier and start or maintain a healthy, fit lifestyle.   I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer,  NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist, Certified Professional Coach,  an AFPA Certified Nutrition Consultant Master Level (APFA Nutrition and  Wellness consultant,  Holistic Nutrition consultant and Sports Nutrition Consultant, Certified Weight Management Specialist) and ACE Group Fitness and ACE Mind and Body Certified.
I believe that you have to find what you love and just do it. Your body is the only one you will ever have, you live in it, and  you have to take care of it now. I truly believe that being physically active.  eating in a healthy manner and practicing techniques aimed at stress reduction are the best ways to manage longterm health. As a former cancer researcher I know that how we take care of our bodies is closely linked to our overall health. I intend to dance for health and eat for life. I aim to spread this philosophy to others. Proper nutrition and a healthy weight prevent most cancers and many chronic diseases including diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Personal Training
We  offer various workout options geared towards increasing  strength,  weight loss,  weight gain, endurance, and flexibility goals. We  will adapt our workouts if you have a chronic condition or disease.  You let us know what you would like to focus on and we will work with you to achieve your goals. We also consult with a physician as needed. 
Athletic Training
We have a NASM perfomance enhancement specialist, and a cardiorespiratory specialist on staff.  We  can provide you with specific regimens to improve sports performance. 
Nutrition
Nutrition is important  for optimal health, disease prevention and maintainance of good health.  We  offer nutritional analyses and counseling to help you reach your goals.  We specialize in the areas of holistic.  sports, and weight management nutrition.  We use the Dietmaster Pro for meal plans.  If you are a current or prospective client you can access this link for tutorial

Yoga
We have  a RYT 200  yoga teacher on staff who is also an ACE certified group fitness instructor  and a Tai Chi Easy practice leader. We can lead you in yoga programs in small groups and personal instruction.
Life Coaching
If you need assistance resolving issues that are preventing you from being the person you want to be, consider using our life coaching service.  Elizabeth  Borge, PhD  is certified professional coach and has had years of counseling experience .  
Packages
We offer various packages. Please inquire directly if you would like to combine personal training with a nutrition package. We also offer online nutrition and fitness programs.
